The building was a two-storey establishment , built with rocks in the foundations, raw adobe in the superstructure and brought roof of tiles. Much of them were found and gave the building the conventional name “House of Keramon” (House of Ceramics).

Although in the historical times Lerna is a minor place, Myth places here the bottomless lake of Alkionia and the source of Amymonis, where the Lernaean Hydra lived, a monster which was demolished by the demigod Heracles in his second labour. The findings from the excavations in Lerna are exhibited at the Archaeological Museum of Argos.
