Epos Travel Tours Greece

For my father’s 70th birthday, I took him on an 8 day father/son trip to Greece – Our goal was to see as much of the “must visit” locations in our very short amount of time. We also personally did not care so much about swimming or rafting or “adventure” outings, but truly wanted to experience the history of the ancient world and steep ourselves in the deep, rich culture of this beautiful country. I found Epos while searching various tour sites, and decided I wanted to work with a local company owned by Greek people if possible, instead of dealing with mega tours ran by corporate entities with buses full of people.

I explained my situation to George, and he was able to build a custom tour for us that exceeded all of our expectations. George and his two sons, Dionysis, and Argiris, combined their skills and knowledge to personally guide us to the most ancient and important sites across the Peloponnese and mainland Greece – From Ancient Olympia, Delphi, Corinth and Thermopylae, to Sparta, Mycenae, and temples dedicated to Heracles, Asclepius, and Poseidon – We experienced it all.

Aside from enjoying the amazing history and rich culture Greece has to offer, George and his family also made sure we wanted for nothing. Authentic Greek taverns and restaurants every afternoon for lunch and every evening for dinner, more food, delicious wine, and tasty beer than we could ever need, and plenty of breaks for coffee (fredo espresso), stretching the legs, water, and scenic photos. George, Dionysis, and Argiris are the epitome of what it means to be Greek, with the utmost hospitality, genuine friendliness, and a deep connection to the land they call home which shines through in their knowledge and discussion of events both historical and modern. They embody the ancient philosophy and mandate of “philoxenia”.

If you are coming to Greece for a tour, and you want to experience the authentic spirit of the country, you MUST use Epos Tours. You will not find a more accommodating or helpful group of people in the country, and you could not possibly feel more cared for or attended to on any other tour. Thank you George, Dionysis, and Argiris for one of the best tour experiences we have ever had, and for your unbridled hospitality. My father and I consider ourselves lucky to have had the opportunity to tour with you, and truly count you as lifelong friends. When we return to Greece, we will call Epos, and if you ever visit the USA, we hope to be able to return the favor.
