This tour was fantastic from start to finish. Our driver Triados and our guide Dionysis picked us up at our hotel and we went off on our adventure. Adventure? Well yes, the tour had what you might expect, visiting historical sites and museums, but so much more. It was a wonderful blend of experiences. I like to swim and we were given plenty of opportunities to swim in lakes, the sea and waterfall splash pools. There was trekking to lighthouses, monasteries and waterfalls, visits to caves and holocaust sites. These different places played their part in informing us of Ancient Greek myths, history, modern struggles for independence, war time suffering in WW2 and seeing how life is in Greece today. All this set against the background of the dramatic scenery of Arkady and lots of different areas in the Peloponnese We covered about 1500k over the 10 days. Our driver Triados was a wonderful driver and an excellent travelling companion. Dionysis , our guide, was so knowledgeable and a an excellent raconteur. We enjoyed particularly discovering the influence of Greek words in our language.

Our travelling companions an Australian couple tells us we must watch the film, my big fat Greek wedding, as apparently everything traces back to Greek origins! The accommodation was excellent, ranging from small family businesses to international hotels, food was sublime. Everyday a gourmet feast for lunch. We had evenings to ourselves to rest up for the next busy day. I cannot speak too highly of this family travel business. Whilst staying in Tripoli town, we had the pleasure of meeting George, the CEO of Epos travels, and his family. Such wonderful hospitality that we will never forget.
